Well, dear readers, it finally happened. I managed to write THE END on book 4 of the Penta Ka Wa series (rough draft). This marks the first book I’ve written from beginning to end since moving to Costa Rica. Now comes the grueling task of proofreading, first round edits, and planning for the next project.
Some people, especially those who love trilogies, might not know that Penta was always meant to be more than just the first three books.
He started out as a legend told to players whenever vampires were mentioned at my game table. The tale evolved to the point where I had to start writing it down because it became too long to remember all the details. As my gaming journey continued, so did the legends of the world.
Eventually, I had a solid plan for nine books…
And then I actually wrote one.
I must confess that my reach and abilities don’t always match, and Penta’s tale might be one of those instances, but I am determined to meet the challenge. Originally, when I planned for nine books, there were going to be thousands of years between each one. However, input from my fans has encouraged me to tell more.
One fan said, “Aren’t you tired of having to reintroduce a whole new generation of characters each time?”
My answer?
Not really. I enjoy the entire creation process, from characters to the environment.
Book 4 of the Penta Ka Wa series, Nightborn Shadows, continues Penta’s journey. He has made his home in the City, established his own sovereign territory, and now rules over his undead citizens.
And then some shit goes down.
I never know how much to reveal, how to balance between an enticing trailer and giving away too much, but I truly enjoyed writing this book, and I hope you enjoy reading it, too.
Pre-orders are now available, with a tentative release date of April 15th. Depending on how long edits take, perhaps it may be released sooner. Sign up for your copy today, and keep an eye out for more details about Kinthur.
Until next time, keep reading. ~Trevor Jones
