In the Beginning… or how Kinthur got its name.

In the beginning, a lone star shone upon a barren planetoid devoid of life, or so the story goes. Into this single-starred system came the first gods, three at that time, each with a purpose and design. Who, you may ask, were these beings?

The first was Krar, a mighty god of Law and Justice, bringing forth the turning that separated night from day. From his light, all darkness would flee.

The second to come forth was the goddess Intak, the Dancing One, who loved all the plants that grew in the light of Krar’s first day. When that first day ended and night came, it was Intak who hung the two moons in the sky to light her way as she danced among the willows and oaks.

The third to issue forth was the goddess, Tsar. From her heart came the love of the animals that wandered the world, swam in the oceans, and flew in the sky. They lived in a balanced cycle with the world and each other. Her favored animal was the cat, and Tsar would often take a feline form as she walked this new world.

Together, the gods of creation 1 took this tiny world and breathed life into it.

Nuntil came forth from the chaos of the Multi-verse, to leave their mark. A deity of immense humor, imagination, and trickery, who would ensure that whatever happened on this backwater world, it would be amusing.

Halovine stepped upon the land and all things feminine came into being. She was the Matron, the Mother, the Crone, the Warrior, and the Witch. Into all things she would ensure a female aspect was present.

Until arose from the blackest depths of time and space and brought with him those things that would shun the light, he was the god of traitors, lies, and illusion. Necromancy, plots of revenge and betrayal are his dominion.

Rktar, the god of shadows, treachery, and murder, would-be rival to the power of Krar, sits at the edges of light. He is the Destroyer, the Twisted, and the Stain upon all creation.

From the first letters of their names, the world was born – KINTHUR.  In the course of a thousand years, these seven Great Deities of Influence and Might vied for control of this seemingly petty little planet, which is the way of gods.

And it came to pass that other gods learned of this world, for gods gossip as much as us mortals, but they closed the world off and combined their powers, forming the Covenant. The details of the Covenant are the stuff of myths and legends, lore and religious dogma.

What Truth is there to be had by a mortal where gods are concerned?
